COVID Health & Safety Guidelines for Members & Visitors

GUIDELINES
Our health & safety guidelines around COVID align with our pre-existing policies around contagious illnesses such as common colds, flu, etc.
⚠️ If you have any symptoms or have been exposed to COVID, or any other contagious illness (cold, flu, etc), please avoid visiting our gym and exposing and potentially spreading the illness in our facility, to our students and staff.
Effective Feb 11, 2022: Masks are no longer required for indoor spaces in Jefferson County.
- Please continue to exercise proper health & safety measures per National, State and County orders, in addition to our already strict health & safety protocols.
- The following safety guidelines need to be strictly adhered to in order for us to remain open and ensure we respect the health & safety of all of our visitors, students and instructors.
- Anyone who violates any of these guidelines will be asked to leave!
DO NOT ATTEND CLASS IF: ⛔️
SYMPTOMS: Do Not attend class if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- cough
- sinus congestion or runny nose
- dry or sore throat, even if you don’t feel “sick”
- fever (100.4ºF higher is considered a fever)
- chills
- reduction in taste or smell
- head aches/stuffy head
- muscle aches
- any other flu-like or COVID-like symptoms
CONDITIONS: Do Not attend class if you meet any of the following conditions:
- You have COVID or think you may have it – get tested to verify
- You have been exposed to anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID. Flu or any other contagious illness
- You tested positive for COVID within the past 10 days and have not yet tested negative, and/or had clearance to be in contact with others from a medical professional
- It has been less than 10 days from the first onset of symptoms and you tested positive for COVID
- It has been less than 10 days since you tested positive for COVID, even if you have no symptoms
- You are around anyone who has had COVID in the past 10 days, even if you are not experiencing any symptoms
- You are considered “high risk” per CDC guidelines
- You live with or care for for someone who is considered “high risk”
- Take extra precautions and check yourself for symptoms regularly if you are commonly exposed to a high risk environment (medical facilities, airports, public transit, nursing homes, etc.)
Testing
There are various testing resources available for COVID. If you are uncertain if you may’ve COVID or any other illness, please error on the side of caution and you should always get a test to verify.

Returning after COVID
As of Dec 27, 2021 CDC isolation recommendation is 5 days.
Students who have had COVID are welcome to return after recovery without mask when they meet the following conditions:
- It’s been 5 days since the date of onset of first symptoms and you are NOT experiencing any symptoms or fever for at least 2 days
- It’s been 5 days since you tested positive and you are not experiencing any symptoms or fever for at least 2 days
- It’s been 5 days since the date of testing positive, even if you’re asymptomatic
- It’s been 5 days since you tested positive, you are not experiencing any symptoms, and have recently tested negative
Please consult your doctor, physician or medical health professional for any health & medical concerns about returning to physical activity & training after you have recovered.
If you cannot attend due to any COVID-related concerns, we will be happy to put a temporary hold on your membership, so you are not charged during your time away. Just email us a request with start and end dates.
BEFORE COMING TO OUR GYM ☑️

- Check yourself for any symptoms
- including fever (100.4ºF higher is considered a fever)
- Wash & Clean ALL equipment & apparel
- Practice good hygiene – wash your hands, hair, etc.
- Comply with any government guidelines and mandates when applicable
- Bring a face mask/covering in case it is required per state or local mandates
AT OUR GYM 🥋
Many of these are just common sense and general practice.

- All new students, visitors or existing students who signed a waiver before June, 2020, will need to sign our new liability waiver form
- Digitally Check-in – Use the free ZenPlanner app on your phone
- Wash/sanitize your hands often
- Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze with your hands – wash hands afterwards
- Do not share equipment unless you are part of the same household
- Observation/Spectating inside is discouraged if you are not vaccinated or considered high risk
- Parents/guardians observe and supervise at your discretion
- Face mask recommended for visitors while indoors per government & health department guidelines
WHAT WE ARE DOING
- Monitoring and complying with government state, county and city updates & guidelines when applicable
- Requiring all members to reserve classes for capacity & contact tracing
- Offering additional sanitation supplies for all members and staff
- Additional cleaning and sanitation measures of all areas including high-contact areas like door knobs
- Monitoring the health & safety of our members and staff
- Offering safety guidelines, COVID-19 resources on our site and email communications
- Increased communications & updates to all members
- Open line of communication for all students to consult with us if they feel they may have exposed the gym to the virus
- Prepared safety protocols in case of any positive case known to be in the facility or for any outbreak
RISKS ⚠️
Training is entirely voluntary for all of our existing members and you should return to training at your discretion while taking into account the health & safety of themselves, their household, our school, other students and our instructors. Consult your doctor or medical professional if you have any questions or concerns about training in these conditions.
- Coronavirus-19 (COVID) and its variants are almost as common as the flu now
- It is something that is likely just part of our society and world and we will have to learn to live with it
- It is important to continue to be healthy, practice proper safety & health precautions when possible to prevent the spread of any contagious illness in our facility, to our students and instructors
- Previous infection or vaccination does not guarantee that you will not contract the virus, suffer further symptoms, be a carrier, or spread it, especially the longer it has been since your last infection or vaccination

Participating in a combat sport like Jiu-Jitsu comes with many inherit risks in a variety of areas which we all try to do our best to help mitigate. By entering our facility and/or partaking in the sport in our facility, all individuals assume those risks, and waive any and/or all liabilities from Mile High Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, any of its staff, instructors and other students.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations may be required by the government for various conditions if a mandate has been issued.
Please contact your doctor or physician to see if a vaccine is right for you and your family.
